Duties
• Lead and supervise a team of aircraft structures and refinishing technicians
• Plan and oversee structural repair and refinishing work to ensure operational readiness
• Ensure compliance with airworthiness, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Provide technical expertise in composite and sheet metal repairs and resolve complex issues
• Coordinate work schedules, priorities, and operational demands
• Monitor quality, safety, and maintenance/reliability programs
• Manage team performance and foster a respectful workplace
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and management
• Support administrative and financial responsibilities as required
• Maintain team training, certification, and operational capability

Intent of the process

Conditions of employment

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Secret security clearance
Possession of a valid driver’s licence.
Possession of a valid passport.
Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest.

Operational Requirements

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
OR1: Willingness and ability to undertake training to maintain or upgrade knowledge, skills, and abilities.
OR2: Willingness and ability to work in a flexible environment on a variable day work and/or shift work schedule, including weekends and some standby on the employee’s days of rest.
OR3: Willingness and ability work in various positions on aircraft and in the hangar, which may involve standing, kneeling, lying and sitting as well as crawling into confined spaces and climbing elevated maintenance stands.
OR4: Willingness and ability to obtain Delegated Financial Signing Authorities as a Responsibility Center Manager.

Education
ED1: Successful completion of a post-secondary school program in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Occupational Certification:
OC1: Possession of a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, Category S.
Experience
EX1: Significant and recent experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, maintaining, repairing and modifying aircraft structures.
EX2: Recent experience supervising a team of technical personnel (such as Aircraft Maintenance Engineers or technicians) in an Approved Maintenance Organization.
Definition of significant and recent experience:
- Significant experience means at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.

Knowledge
K1: Knowledge of techniques required to do composite and sheet metal structural repair.
