About the position

Duties
Facilities Attendants play a very important role here in Jasper National Park. They are tasked with cleaning and maintaining Parks Canada Agency visitor facilities/buildings and grounds in all corners of the Park. The right people to fill these positions should work well with others, take pride in their work, and in going the extra mile to contribute to creating memorable experiences for visitors. This is a dynamic team and as a presence in all regions of the park, Facility Attendants have the opportunity to take on novel tasks interact with visitors answering inquiries and providing direction and representing the Parks Canada Agency at all times in addition to their routine cleaning duties.

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

Conditions of employment

Operational Requirements

• You will be required to wear a Parks Canada uniform and wear it in accordance with the Parks Canada Uniform Policy.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including overtime, weekends, and statutory or provincial/territorial holidays, as required.
• You will be required to work and travel in a variety of terrains and weather conditions while performing your duties.
Visitor Facilities Attendants are expected to commute to their assigned workplaces via personal vehicle or transport, up to 60 km from the Jasper townsite. The Parks Canada Agency pays commuting allowance to eligible employees for distances that total over 32 km.
