Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to fill seven (7) English essential position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Borden, ON. 🏢 These positions require full-time, on-site presence.
🔷 This process will be used to fill current and future vacancies with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), language profiles, security requirements, and conditions of employment at the Department of National Defence.

COE1. Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest.
COE2. Must have a minimum Civilian Ammunition Technician (CAT) Level 4 certification in accordance with the Civilian Ammunition Technician Accreditation Program OR a minimum Military Ammunition Technician Trade Training QL6A or Ammunition Technician (AT) Rank Qualification (RQ) Sgt.
COE3. Must be willing and able to wear a variety of personal protective equipment.
COE4. Must be Willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
COE5. Must be able to lift up to 25kg without assistance in accordance with safe lifting practices.
COE6. Possession of a valid provincial or territorial driver’s license.
COE7. Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain valid DND 404 vehicle operator licence.
COE8. Must meet and maintain the medical requirements of Health Canada in accordance with Treasury Board guidelines.

EDUCATION
ED1. A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note).
Note:
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
▶ A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
▶ An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:
↪ Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
↪ Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the GT classification.
The opportunity to be assessed by at least one of the two employer-approved alternatives must be offered to candidates who have not previously met the secondary school diploma requirement. Candidates who were appointed or deployed on an indeterminate basis using an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience meet the secondary school requirement for the GT classification only and must be reassessed for entry to other classifications on the basis of this alternative.

EX2. Experience in supervising and training employees on ammunition and explosive maintenance, testing, repairs and inspections.

AEX4. Experience in instructing, developing and implementing instruction or training plans and schedules.
