About the position

Duties
Logistical Fleet Driver duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Working as a team and/or individually;
• Working in all weather conditions;
• Operating a variety of vehicles to provide passenger and material (freight) transportation at Depot Division, “F” Division, and Shared services building. Vehicle types include: 48 passenger bus, small vans and a one-ton cube truck;
• Each duty requires the Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of freight that can be heavy (up to 40kg max weight), large and awkward to handle;
• Lifting and placing freight on shelves, up to 5 feet high;
• Carrying freight (all sizes and weight) up and down stairs;
• Vehicle maintenance on operational vehicles and fleet vehicles.

Intent of the process
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.
This process will be used to staff one indeterminate full-time position in Regina, Saskatchewan. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions with various tenures .

Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain an RCMP security clearance may involve, but is not limited to, a security/reliability interview, a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity, verification of credit/financial status, reference checks, education, employment history, online activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc., and may require certain residency requirements.

Candidates will be required to show original proof of certification. Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Consult the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials for further information at http://www.cicic.ca/.
The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship or permanent resident status prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates; Permanent resident card.
Testing/interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice.
Candidates may be required to pay for all assessment and travel expenses.
