Who can apply
To be eligible, you must be:
• Employed or residing within 200-kilometre radius of Fort St. James, BC (including the communities of Nak’azdli, Yekooche, Binche, Tache, Takla, Saik’uz, Nadleh, Fort Fraser, Fraser Lake, Vanderhoof, and Prince George).
• Between 15 and 30 years old
• Have legal status to work in Canada. Please indicate in your application the reason for which you are entitled to work in Canada: Canadian Citizenship, permanent resident status or work permit.

About the position

Duties
Visitor Services Attendant -
Greets visitors, collects fees, provides information to the public on park programs and services; Assists with programming at park field station; Cleans visitor facilities including washrooms and reception areas.
Grounds/Maintenance Worker -
Provides general maintenance and labour services working on trails, grounds, roads and solid waste management and related facilities maintenance; support trades staff in construction and installations; and other general maintenance and repair requirements as directed.
Work environment
Fort St. James National Historic Site, with the largest collection of original fur trade buildings in Canada, its remarkable view out over beautiful Stuart Lake, and authentic, entertaining execution of a day in the summer of 1896, is one of Canada’s premiere fur trading posts. Attracting both local and international guests in the summer season, it contributes to a diversified economy and provides community leadership in celebrating and protecting the cultural heritage of Fort St. James. The site offers one of the best opportunities to connect northern British Columbia residents to their nationally significant heritage and to provide them with a Parks Canada experience.

• Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform;
• Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
