🏢 In line with Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) direction, the Department of National Defence has adopted a common hybrid work model where employees work at their designated worksite at least 3 days each week, or 60% of their regular schedule. Some positions may require full-time on-site presence.

EXPERIENCE
▶ EX1: Electronics experience* in one or more of the following domains:
▶ Domain 1: Technical Support and Investigation
↪ This domain focuses on specialized test & evaluation, technical investigation, engineering support, design calibration, preventative and corrective maintenance, repair and overhaul of electrical or electronic equipment and systems. Key functions may include failure investigations and root-cause analysis, extensive technical testing and evaluation using specialized tools and methodologies, assessing and providing technical advice and guidance on specialized equipment design and maintenance, and planning and managing technical resources and assets to support operational requirements and investigations. It applies advanced knowledge of mathematics to support concepts of electrical and electronic technologies, and associated fields of technology such as physics in order to analyze and investigate multi-disciplinary materiel and procedures.
▶ Domain 2: Life Cycle Materiel Management
↪ This domain focuses on managing the design, engineering, maintenance and disposal functions for a system throughout the life cycle of the hardware, system software, applications software and communication facilities. Key activities include developing long-range maintenance and recapitalization plans, managing multi-year budgets, preparing and administering contracts, coordinating technical investigations and feasibility studies, and producing technical documentation to support procurement, modification, testing, and installation of complex systems, all to ensure equipment availability, reliability, maintainability, and cost effectiveness.
▶ Domain 3: Integrated Logistics Support
↪ This domain focuses on the strategic, management and technical process that seamlessly incorporates supportability and logistical considerations into equipment design and sustainment throughout its full lifecycle. Key functions may include but are not limited to assessing and determining the supply chains, maintenance planning, training, technical data, support equipment, facilities, and personnel—are planned, acquired, tested and delivered in a timely, cost-effective manner. It applies systems engineering principles to optimize availability, reliability, maintainability and performance of materiel by aligning support solutions with operational requirements and lifecycle objectives.
▶ Domain 4: System Engineering Management
↪ This domain focuses on the structured application of engineering principles and processes to define, develop, integrate, and sustain complex systems. Key activities include planning and coordinating technical deliverables, maintaining configuration baselines, implementing quality control measures, eliciting and validating requirements, and executing verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with operational and performance objectives. Additionally, this domain operates in a project management capacity by developing schedules, monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring alignment between technical solutions and project objectives.
* Electronics experience is defined as a minimum of four years of professional experience in electronics technical functions.

EDUCATION
▶ AED1: Successful completion of post-secondary electronics program at a recognized college, technical institute or university such as Electronics engineering technology, Electrical/electronics technology, Avionics Technology, Telecommunication electronics and Instrumentation or similar electronics field, or an acceptable combination of technical education, training and/or experience.
▶ AED2: Successful completion of education or training in administration, financial management, or any other discipline not covered under AED1 from a recognized institution or miliary equivalent.

▶ AOC1: DND project manager qualification (Project Management Competency Development Qualification (PMCD)) or Project Management Professional (PMP) of the Project Management Institute (PMI) or Certified associate in project management (CAPM) of the PMI.

▶ AOC3: Certification as a technologist in a province or territory of Canada.
