About the position

Work environment
At the Office of the Auditor General of Canada (OAG), we serve Canadians with the intention of supporting their trust in our public institutions and continued excellence of our public service, one audit at a time.
The OAG employs over 750 people at its head office in Ottawa and regional offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, Montréal, and Halifax. These dedicated employees are brought together to transform Canada’s future and to serve Canada through leadership and partnerships. Specifically, we conduct independent audits and studies that provide objective information, advice, and assurance to Parliament, territorial legislatures, boards of Crown corporations, government, and Canadians.
Intent of the process
This process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar or identical positions with various security requirements, language requirements, and tenures (indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment, and Interchange Canada).

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - The positions being staffed include roles requiring Reliability Status as well as roles requiring Secret clearance, depending on operational requirements. Candidates must meet the security requirement of the position they are selected for.

Operational Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel based on operational needs (0-15%).
• Ability and willingness to do overtime, as needed.
Up to 5 days a week on site presence

You need (essential for the job)

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized university

• Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
At least 2 years of experience within the last 5 years in external financial statement audit

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Certified Information Controls Auditor (CICA) certification
• Holder of a Canadian Public Accounting License
• Experience in assessing or applying controls
• Recent Information technology (IT) audit experience
• Recent Artificial Intelligence (AI) audit experience
• Recent experience working with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Recent experience working with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)
• Competency working with data analytics or visualization software (e.g: IDEA, Mindbridge, Power BI ,etc.)
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python)
