About the position
Work environmentSundre is a beautiful rural farming community situated near the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains, approximately one hour from the cities of Calgary and Red Deer and only 25 minutes west of Olds, Alberta with all amenities available.
The Sundre RCMP Detachment provides client services to the communities of Sundre, Bearberry, James River, Bergen, Harmattan, Eagle Hill, Burnstick Lake, Mountain View County and Clearwater County. The Detachment Services Assistant is integral to operational support for a small team of RCMP Members at the Sundre RCMP Detachment, and will form a strong working knowledge of the rural areas we serve.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Sundre, Alberta, and create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*

Experience in providing administrative support services*
*Administrative support services can include: coordinating and scheduling appointments, meetings and teleconferences; assisting with arranging travel and accommodations; preparing, transcribing and processing a variety of correspondence, reports and documentation; preparing and distributing mail; providing reception services, referring callers and visitors to the appropriate areas, conducting photocopying/scanning activities, maintain office equipment, etc.
Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices
Applied / assessed at a later date
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages and bail hearing packages.
Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC)
