About the position

Duties
The Heritage Presenter is required to effectively communicate information, role-play, and read and understand interpretive presentations and historical references. Contacts are with visitors to convey messages, deliver presentations, and respond to visitor inquiries. (Baddeck, NS)
Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

Operational Requirements

Willing and able to work: irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or on statutory holidays, when required.
Must be willing to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required.
Be exposed to variable weather conditions.

You need (essential for the job)

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
Experience in paid or volunteer work that entailed direct contact and communication with the public.
Experience in interacting with the public in a reception/orientation capacity.
Ability to deliver messages/information to groups in face-to-face situations with the purpose of education, engagement, entertainment and/or motivation.
Ability to anticipate/meet public needs, resolve complaints, anticipate/detect incidents and find solutions
Makes things happen.
Personally connects with people.
Communicates effectively.
Takes responsibility.
