About the position

Work environment
The work is being performed in a police detachment environment. This results in occasional exposure to intoxicated mentally unstable, hostile and potentially violent individuals to victims of crime or relatives of accident victims who may be distraught. The work is performed in an open office environment. It involves tight deadlines, time pressures, frequent interruptions, conflicting priorities and multiple demands from staff, callers and visitors.
Intent of the process
📢 The immediate intent of the process is to staff indeterminately one position at RCMP, in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established, which could be used to staff temporary, and/or permanent positions, with similar qualifications, various linguistic profiles, various security requirements, and/or various tenures at RCMP, within the Yukon Region. Conditions of employment may vary according to the positions to be staffed.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Conditions of employment

1. Meet and maintain the medical profile standards established for the position, and (if applicable) any additional medical requirements for isolated posts, in accordance with the National Joint Council Isolated Posts and Government Housing Directive.

Top Secret security clearance - Royal Canadian Mounted Police Top Secret security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

The minimum standard is:
• Successful completion of two years of secondary school* or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience (see Note 1).
Note 1: The combination of education, training, and/or experience must always be included whenever this standard is required for staffing positions in the CR group.
*Two years of secondary school is typically completion of grade ten.

• Extensive experience* in using police computer applications such as: PROS; PRIME; CPIC; etc.
• Experience in performing various administrative office practices such as keyboarding, filing, document/report production.
• Experience in managing electronic and hard copy files.
*Extensive experience would be demonstrated by a minimum of 12 months of experience.

• Experience in providing operational and administrative support services relating to the quality, maintenance and disposition of operational records.
• Experience in providing support to clients relating to records management.
• Experience in using Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC)
• Knowledge of the PROS (Police Reporting Operational System) and CPIC application and its governing policies and procedures.
