About the position

Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Lake Louise, Alberta, and create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

The Competency “ability to communicate effectively in writing” will be assessed through the screening questions.
✅Candidates may be assessed using one or more of the following tools: standardized tests, written exam, interview, simulation exercise and reference checks.
✅ Volume management strategies may be used. Should there be a large number of applicants, please note that asset qualifications could be invoked. A random or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process. A cut-off score may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.
✅ All communication relating to this process, including email correspondence and telephone conversations, may be used in the assessment of qualifications.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance.
Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.

Operational Requirements

• Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material
• Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft)
• Willingness and ability to work overtime as required

Ex1 - Experience in the provision of administrative support services including three of the following: data entry, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail.
Ex2 - Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
Ex3 - Experience using a personal computer and word processing and spreadsheet software.

AQ1 - Experience working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
AQ2 - Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices.
AQ3 - Experience maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC).
