Duties
Provides general maintenance, repair and labour services to support grounds, roads, trails and facilities maintenance; construction and installations; and other general maintenance and repair requirements for the Parks Canada Agency. May also help with other campground, building and vessel operation duties.

Intent of the process
This process will be used to hire 2 Permanent Seasonal position (.5 FTE) 6 months annually - Trail Crew Member & Front Country.
This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures (permanent, temporary, or acting opportunities), security levels or linguistic profiles in same or other parts of the country.

✔️Possess and maintain a valid Class G driver’s license
✔️Pass a backpack test (25lbs bag test is timed)
✔️Complete a pre-employment medical (and periodic medical assessments)
✔️Complete a certified chainsaw course
Operational Requirements
✔️Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment
✔️Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions and remote location
✔️Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and
provincial/territorial holidays, when required

EDUCATION
✔️Graduation with a secondary school diploma OR
✔️An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

✔️Performing routine maintenance tasks including general repairs to trails, roads, bridges, buildings and other facilities
✔️Planning for daily tasks, tool inspection, material checks, site safety, and clean-up

✔️ Knowledge of individual equipment manuals and why they are useful
ABILITIES
✔️Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment associated with campground and trail maintenance
✔️Ability to safely operate a chainsaw. circular saw, pole saw, brush cutter, whipper snippers, lawnmower
✔️Ability to carry out routine inspections
