About the position

Duties
Cleans and maintains Parks Canada buildings and facilities to ensure a safe, welcoming, and high‑quality experience for visitors.
The position requires the incumbent to:
• Perform repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks with attention to detail.
• Stand, bend, stretch, and work from ladders as required to reach high or confined areas.
• Lift and carry supplies, tools, and equipment such as buckets and cleaning materials.
• Dust, wash, and maintain the cleanliness of walls, windows, and other surfaces.
• Collect and properly dispose of litter and waste from facilities and outdoor areas.
• Travel to various outdoor sites, working in conditions that include exposure to weather elements.
Work environment
Prince Albert National Park is an hour’s drive north of the city of Prince Albert, or 2.5 hours from Saskatoon. It is a land of lakes surrounded by conifer and aspen trees. The town site of Waskesiu Lake is a small collection of residences and businesses on the shore of a sandy beach and a lake that stretches off into the horizon. Visitation is busiest in the summer months, with significant visitation in the spring and fall too.

Operational Requirements

Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment.
Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.
Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
Willingness to perform duties in various locations.
