Conditions of Employment
• Must possess and maintain a valid, non-graduated, and unrestricted provincial or Territorial Driver’s Licence.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DND 404 driver’s license.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment used in a construction/maintenance environment
• May be required to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, scaffolding and work from heights. Work may include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, sitting, color determination, speaking and listening, and working in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
• Willingness to travel to undertake training as required.

Operational Requirements

Operational Requirements
OR-1 - Ability to obtain and maintain a DND driver’s license (DND 404)
OR-2 - Must possess and maintain a valid, non-graduated, and unrestricted provincial or Territorial Driver’s Licence.
OR-3 -Willingness to be on a standby or a call-in list and asked to respond after hours within one hour of being called in. Willingness to work overtime including weekends
OR-4 - Ability to wear personal protective equipment used in a construction/maintenance environment

Occupational Certification
OC-1 - Possession of a valid red seal journeyperson’s certification in the painting and decorating trade (required for positions in Petawawa, ON).
OR
A secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
Experience in working as a painter in a maintenance or construction environment.
Experience in operating and maintaining a variety of tools and equipment.

Experience in the application of oil and water-based paints
Experience in patching mudding and tapping drywall
Experience in epoxy coatings

Experience in the handling of Human Resources.
Possession of one or more of the following certifications:
• First Aid
• CPR
• WHMIS
• Aerial Lift
• Working From Heights
• Confined Space Entry
