The Parks Canada team working at the National Park Reserve of the Archipelago Mingan includes 20 employees nearly 50 people in the summer. The fieldwork, exclusively on islands, requires travel which is provided by Parks Canada boat operators. Departures are from the marina of Havre-Saint-Pierre or Mingan.

This process will also serve to create a list of qualified candidates to fill positions on a temporary or permanent basis.

Conditions of employment

📰 Reliability security clearance
🪪 Valid driver’s license
⮩ You will need to get to your workplace and the various workstations on your own.
⮩ Being in good physical shape (daily walk about 3 km)
⮩ The applicant may be required to complete a personal health statement in accordance with the Isolated Posts Policy ;
⮩ The candidate may be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment medical examination and regular medical examinations.

Operational Requirements

⮩ Work shift-work, and/or weekends, and provincial/territorial statutory holidays;
⮩ Wear a Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy.
⮩ Work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation including the possibility of sleeping overnight in the backcountry;
⮩ Wear safety equipment.
⮩ Ability to travel to work by own means.

⮩ An acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a field related to the position*.

⮩ Experience in one of the following fields: construction, carpentry, general building maintenance and grounds maintenance.
