Intent of the process
This is an anticipatory process with the goal of building a qualified pool of candidates to draw from to fill anticipated Term vacancies from May to October at Castle Hill National Historic Site (Placentia, NL) and Hawthorne Cottage National Historic Site (Brigus, NL).
The pool of qualified and/or partially qualified candidates established from this process may also be used to staff similar positions of varying tenures (temporary, indeterminate, casual) and various work locations within Parks Canada Agency.

• Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment
• Willingness to use safe work practices (training and terms of use provided)
• Willingness to work irregular hours, shift work, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required
• Possession of a valid class 5 Driver’s License
• Willingness to obtain First Aid Certification

Operational Requirements

• Be exposed to variable weather conditions
• Be exposed to stress when responding to fluctuating, unpredictable visitor demands and requirements
• Work from Castle Hill National Historic Site or Hawthorne Cottage National Historic Site.
• Must provide own transportation to and from the workplace

Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB) - The Visitor Services Attendant position must obtain intermediate level (BBB) evaluation results in reading, writing and speaking in their second language (English or French) prior to hiring.

• AE1: Experience in data entry of statistical information
