About the position
Duties
The visitor facilities attendant is responsible for performing routine maintenance and cleaning tasks for buildings, campgrounds, beaches, walkways, and more at La Mauricie National Park. This role is essential to fulfilling Parks Canada’s mandate by ensuring visitors enjoy a clean and healthy environment. You will regularly work as part of a team and outdoors.

Conditions of employment
• Obtain and maintain a reliability security clearance;
• Hold and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license (mandatory).
Operational Requirements
• Stand, bend, stretch, and lift small loads;
• Perform repetitive maintenance movements;
• Be exposed to cleaning product and garbage odors.
• Be willing to travel and work in all types of weather conditions and on varied terrain;
• Work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and federal and provincial holidays;
• Agree to wear the Parks Canada uniform and required protective equipment.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing cleaning services;
OR experience performing minor maintenance work.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of implementing occupational health and safety procedures.
ABILITIES
• Read and follow instructions for the use of cleaning products;
• Perform tasks in accordance with established instructions, procedures, and techniques;
• Identify hazards and take measures to ensure a safe environment.
PERSONAL SUITABILITIES
• Demonstrate integrity, loyalty, and respect;
• Exercise judgment;
• Maintain a professional attitude, including in high-traffic and stressful situations;
• Work effectively with others.
