As of January 13th, 2025, Canadian citizenship is a requisite for obtaining Secret security clearance at Global Affairs Canada. Permanent residents are welcome to participate in this staffing process. However, since Secret security clearance is a condition of employment for this(ese) position(s), they will not be eligible for appointment unless they become Canadian citizens.
