• Possession of a valid provincial or inter-provincial Heavy Equipment Repair Certificate, or military equivalent OR
• Possession of a valid provincial OR inter-provincial Truck and Transport Repair Certificate, or military equivalent OR
• Possession of a valid provincial or inter-provincial Journeyperson’s Certificate as an Automotive Service Technician, or military equivalent OR
• Possession of a valid inter-provincial Red Seal as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, or military equivalent OR
• Possession of a valid provincial or inter-provincial Journeyperson’s Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics, or military equivalent.
• Possession of a valid unrestricted driver’s license in the province/territory of employment.
• Possession of a valid and unrestricted driver’s license with Air Brake Endorsement in the province/territory of employment.
• Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DND Driver’s License (DND 404).
• Possession of a valid provincial Vehicle Inspector Certificate Class 3 (or equivalent) with Air Brakes Endorsement in the province/territory of employment.
• Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain relevant trade membership as a fully licensed Technician, as required by the position.
• Must be willing and able to safely perform a variety of physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to climb, stand, walk, lift, bend, pull and/or push, grasp, reach, stoop, sit and crouch for extended periods of time.
• Must be willing and able to work at heights and confined spaces.
• Must be willing and able to wear CSA approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Must complete periodic departmental and trade training and/or upgrading as required.
Candidates must meet and maintain conditions of employment throughout their employment in this position.
