About the position
DutiesAs part of our dynamic skilled and semi-skilled maintenance team in Prince Albert National Park, you will be providing skilled carpentry services for industrial and residential buildings, structures and other assets.
The work will include performing skilled carpentry work on heritage and contemporary assets including new small construction, restoration and rehabilitation, inspecting and reporting on facility defects.
Work environment
Prince Albert National Park is an hour’s drive north of the city of Prince Albert, or 2.5 hours from Saskatoon, it is a land of lakes surrounded by conifer and aspen trees. The town site of Waskesiu Lake is a small collection of residences and businesses on the shore of a sandy beach and a lake that stretches off into the horizon. Visitation is busiest in the summer months, with significant visitation in the spring and fall too.
Conditions of employment
Security Screening: Obtain and maintain Reliability Status Clearance.
Obtain and maintain valid class 5 license.
Operational Requirements
Work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays.
Wear a Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy.
Stand/walk/hike for prolonged periods.
Perform certain physical tasks as per job requirements.
You need (essential for the job)
Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
Possession of a valid Provincial or Inter-provincial Journeyman Certificate as a Carpenter valid in the province of the work location.
Learn more about degree equivalency.
Experience working as a Carpenter in a maintenance or construction environment.
Experience in operating and maintaining a variety of tools (powered and manual).
