• Willing and able to maintain valid occupational licenses and certifications required for the position being staffed.
• Candidates who qualify based on a valid Technical Qualification Level (QL) 5 (minimum) in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a carpenter or carpenter-joiner may be required to obtain and maintain a valid provincial or territorial journeyperson certificate of qualification as a carpenter or carpenter-joiner at the time of appointment.

Operational Requirements

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willing and able to work overtime and an on-call schedule.
• Willing and able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Willing and able to travel.
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driver's license.
• Possession of a valid provincial or territorial driver's license.
Operational requirements may differ by position and could become conditions of employment. Additional requirements may also apply.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
ESSENTIAL OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
• Possession of a valid provincial or territorial journeyperson certificate of qualification as a carpenter or carpenter-joiner;
OR
• Possession of a valid certificate accepted by the provincial or territorial governing body as an equivalent as a carpenter or carpenter-joiner;
OR
• Possession of a valid Technical Qualification Level (QL) 5 or Developmental Period (DP) 2 in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in a carpentry-joiner related trade.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Experience working as a carpenter or carpenter-joiner in a maintenance or construction environment.

• Possession of a valid Red Seal Designation in carpentry or joinery.
• Possession of any of the following occupational licenses and/or certifications:
- Confined Space Entry Training
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Operation Certification
- Fall Arrest Training
- Lockout Tagout Training
- Power Tool and Equipment Safety Training
- Standard First Aid Certification
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Training
- Working at Heights Certification

Additional licenses or certifications relevant to the position being staffed.
ASSET EXPERIENCES
• Experience supervising employees as a part of your regular duties.
• Experience collaborating with diverse trades and professionals.
Asset qualifications may be invoked as essential qualifications.
