- Salary to be determined based on the level of education required by the student employment categories and the completed current academic level.

About the position
Duties
Assisting the park grounds crew with general maintenance, repair and labour services to support grounds, road and facilities, construction and installations; and other general maintenance and repair requirements for the Parks Canada Agency.
This work could include working with the Trail and Ground team to maintain our trails, campgrounds or golf course including landscaping work, tree planting, mowing, tree cutting/trimming, trail repair/restoration work, install trail signs, etc.
Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to hire students for the summer 2026. The exact number of positions available is to be determined.

• Must be willing to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
• Must be willing to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment
• May be required to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.
• May be required to possess a valid Class 5 driver's license.
• Will be required to have your own transportation to and from the workplace.
• May be required to find your own housing in the area. Staff housing is limited and not guaranteed.

EDUCATION:
Registered as a full-time student in a recognized institution (high school, CEGEP, College, University, etc.) and returning to full-time studies for the next academic term (Fall 2026).

Experience
• Experience in lawn maintenance
• Basic handyperson experience
• Basic tool and equipment knowledge

Abilities:
• Ability to adapt to challenging situations
• Ability to follow instructions and apply safe work practices
• Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to walk and carry equipment (motorised landscaping tools) for the majority of the workday in an outdoor environment

• Ability to use a computer for personal administration and training
