Intent of the process
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and used to staff identical or similar positions with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), operational requirements, and conditions of employment at the Department of National Defence, in Borden or Kingston, ON.
Please note that all positions are on-site, and you will be expected to work in person for the entire duration of your scheduled hours.

Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics - Canada.ca, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector- Canada.ca, Directive on Conflict of Interest- Canada.ca, and DAOD 7021-1, Conflict of Interest - Canada.ca.
▶ COE1. Must wear approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment as required.
▶ COE2. Willing and able to work shifts schedule as required (including on weekends, evenings and statutory holidays).
▶ COE3. Willing and able to work overtime as required (often on short notice).
▶ COE4. Must be able to lift, push, pull , and carry items weighing up to 20 kg in accordance with general safety practices.

Depending on the position(s) being staffed, some additional Operational requirements may be required as well as some of the operational requirements listed may be used as conditions of employment. If this is the case, we will communicate with qualified candidates to inform them of any additional Operational Requirements or Condition of Employments in order to determine interest for these opportunities and assess/confirm whether these additional requirements are met

EXPERIENCE
▶EX1. Experience preparing formal meals using standard culinary techniques*.
*Refers to work experience as a cook/chef completing a broad range of cooking-related tasks as your primary work responsibilities in an industrial setting such as but not limited to fine dining, hotels, resorts, catering services, country clubs or institutional Hospital, nursing homes, educational institutes, correctional facilities and camps. It will be assessed based on the scope, complexity and the diversity of the work performed.

(QL5).

▶ AEX2. Experience in preparing and issuing takeout meals.
▶ AEX3. Experience working as a cook in a military establishment.

▶ AEX5. Experience in the application of the Food Safety and Defence Program.
▶ AEX6. Experience working or volunteering in a mixed civilian and military environment.
