About the position

Duties
📢 The positions require specific skills in maintenance and facility management, tailored to the needs of institutional environments.
🛠️ 𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒:
➩ Perform general (preventive and corrective) maintenance of buildings, grounds, and landscaping within a CSC institution.
➩ Support workshops in trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, painting, masonry, metalwork, and basic mechanical maintenance.
➩ Safely operate and maintain manual and power tools.
➩ Collaborate with technical teams on specialized maintenance tasks.
➩ In some institutions, carry out minor equipment and vehicle repairs.
➩ Supervise and train offenders in grounds and maintenance related areas.
➩ Support the operation of facilities such as the tool centre, composting unit, and garage.
➩ Perform other related maintenance duties as required by operational needs.

This selection process is intended to staff positions in Gravenhurst and Kitchener institutions (indeterminate, term, and casual). Please note that the resulting pool of qualified candidates may also be used to staff similar positions in other institutions within the Ontario Region, based on operational needs.

Operational Requirements

➧ Must be willing to work overtime and flexible hours.
➧ Must be willing and able to work and lift tools, equipment and objects weighing at least 50 lbs when required (candidates may be required to pass a physical test in relation to this condition).
➧ Must be willing and able to work in a 24/7 operational environment.
