Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill one (1) position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Oromocto, New Brunswick. The language profile is English or French Essential.

A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence.

EDUCATION
▶ EDU1. A secondary school diploma; and Completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology or the employer-approved alternative.

The employer-approved alternative is as follows:
▶ An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Note:
Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EX1. Experience in 1st or 2nd line maintenance; troubleshooting, modification and repair of Fire Control Systems and Electronic and Optronic equipment.

EX2. Experience in the installation, inspection, repair and modification of equipment and systems supported by the Electronic and Optronic trade on military equipment (both vehicle and weapon platforms) such as M777 Howitzer, Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs), Main Battle Tanks (MBTs), and Monocular Night Vision Goggles (MNVGs).

EX3. Experience in interpreting drawings, schematic diagrams and work orders.

CO3. Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
CO4. Must be willing and able to lift items in excess of 15.9 kg (35 lbs)
CO5. Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest.
