The student will join a well funded project to examine the effects of fertigation on potato growth, tuber yield and quality as well as its impacts on soil quality and the environment. The student will work closely with researchers and professionals from the federal government (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada), the industry (McCain Foods), and professional organizations in the agricultural sector in NB (such as the Agricultural Alliance of NB). Through this program, the student will obtain knowledge on the potato industry and training on techniques for soil quality evaluation, irrigation and fertilizer management, agri-environmental monitoring and gain experiences on scientific research.

Education :
Currently enrolled or willing to enroll by the date of appointment in a Master’s program in a recognized post-secondary academic institution with specialization in: soil science, agri-environmental sciences or a closely related field.
Note: Must be currently recognized as having full-time student status in the academic institution in which you are presently enrolled, pending approval of acceptance or in the process of submitting your application. Proof of enrollment will be required prior to start date and the student must be returning to full-time studies for your next academic term.
Experience :
Experience in soil or agri-environment related laboratory or field work.
Experience in scientific data analysis.
