This student position will provide technical support on the direct lithium extraction project. They may be involved in the following assignments during the work term:
1. Under supervision, the candidate will conduct research to develop the technology of direct lithium extraction from brine and contribute to the development of manuscript(s) for peer reviewed publication.
2. Conduct pilot scale test for the ionic liquid extraction technology development.
3. Reduce the OPEX by improving the recycle and reuse of the IL systems or replacing the diluent with an alternative cost-effective solvent
4. Increase the technical readiness level of the developed technology

Education
- Graduation with a Bachelor degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in chemistry or chemical engineering.
AND
- Enrolled in a Master's program at University of Alberta with a specialization in chemical engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Experience in performing or researching methodologies in the chemical engineering discipline, such as mineral extraction and mineral processing.
