Duties

📌 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 (𝐀𝐑-𝟎𝟓/𝐄𝐍-𝐄𝐍𝐆-𝟎𝟒) - Parks Canada is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex infrastructure projects at national parks, historic sites, highway corridors and waterways across Canada. In this role, you will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets and timelines, ensure all work aligns with federal environmental and heritage standards and enable the safety & reliability of Parks Canada's highway & waterway projects & studies. Intent of the process

This selection process will be used to staff three (3) positions on a temporary basis for the following positions:

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 - one (1) position to be filled with specialization in project management.
𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 - one (1) position to be filled with specialization in highway engineering.
𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 - one (1) position to be filled with specialization in waterways.

A pool of qualified candidates will be created from this process to fill identical or similar positions with varying employee status, security level or linguistic profiles and/or requirements, in various Parks Canada locations across the country.

Certification as a Professional Engineer or Architect in Canada OR eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect in Canada.

Recent and Significant* experience in the following areas:

EX1: Planning, managing, and successfully delivering complex infrastructure, construction, or highway projects;
EX2: Coordinating and reviewing design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates;
EX3: Consulting with internal and external stakeholders and negotiating consensus among them.

*Recent and significant experience implies at least five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years, with that experience being within Canada.

A1: Ability to manage a portfolio of multiple and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects of varying complexity;
A2: Ability to assess complex information and situations, to seek out and identify project risks and to develop and implement mitigation strategies, recommendations and solutions;
A3: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
A4: Ability to develop/compose technical documents such as requests for proposals and statements of work.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation;

AEX1: Managing consultants and contractors to obtain services in construction or specialized engineering advice;
AEX2: Financial management including knowledge of managing project budgets, life-cycle management, asset management or long term capital planning;
AEX3: Asset management and/or project management of Heritage assets, Waterway infrastructure or Government infrastructure.

*Recent and significant experience implies at least five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years, with that experience being within Canada.

💡Asset Knowledge

AK1: Knowledge of Government of Canada standards, guidelines, processes and practices in relation to real property management, project management, procurement & contracting and highways.

Operational Requirements

- Willingness to travel and/or work in a variety of weather conditions and terrain for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to travel over roads closed to the general public and to work in and around construction sites.
- Requirement to work overtime, weekends and/or statutory/provincial/territorial holidays.
- Willingness to wear identifier clothing and required safety equipment.
