Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 1 permanent vacancy.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future permanent or temporary vacancies (including terms, actings, casuals, assignments and secondments) in similar-level positions (at full or part-time hours, including shift-work). Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Experience:
• Experience in providing client service and support, such as assessing and resolving client inquiries or issues
• *Recent experience using MS Office tools (e.g, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint or equivalent software)
• *Recent experience working in an administrative setting utilizing modern technologies or tools, such as Microsoft SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Online collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Adobe, or comparable systems)
• **Significant experience in researching and analyzing documentation (e.g., policies, procedures) within an academic or professional environment to support informed decision-making.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
• *Recent and **significant experience working in the PRIME Records Management System including related subsystems, such as Records, Court, and Property
• *Recent and **significant experience working with Public Safety Applications, such as MDT, MRE, CAD, CPIC, PIP, or JUSTIN
• *Recent and **significant experience with PRIME System Administrator functions, such as PRIME access, security rights, workflow, handles and org unit structure
• **Significant experience working in law enforcement

*Recent experience is defined as the performance of duties within the last 3 years.
**Significant experience refers to the depth & breadth of experience normally associated with performance of the duties on a continuous basis over a period of 12 months.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the PRIME Records Management System.
• Knowledge of Information Management in the federal government.

Conditions of employment

• RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance (Normally requires Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident status and a minimum Canadian residency requirement of 5 years)
• Willing and able to work shiftwork hours, as well as flexible shifts scheduled, including extended hours or modified shifts, in accordance with operational requirements
• Willing and able to work in an operational policing office environment

Depending on the requirements of the position(s) being staffed from this process, for current or future vacancies, any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements, and organizational needs may be applied at the time of staffing. Candidates may be contacted and assessed against these criteria at any time during this process.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.

Please note that within the context of this selection process, travel costs/expenses will not be reimbursed. Consequently, candidates will be responsible for travel costs.

Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed or appointed in this appointment process.

If a qualified candidate has been selected and appointed on an indeterminate basis from the established pool, they will be removed from the pool. If a candidate is selected for a specified period (including term, acting, or assignment/secondment) appointment, they will remain in the pool for future offers.

This process and the resulting pool will only be used to staff positions in the RCMP.

Incorrect or fraudulent information provided by a candidate during the application or assessment process will result in elimination from the process.

Experience qualifications will be assessed upon application. Further confirmation or assessment may be conducted through reference checks.

Those selected for assessment should be prepared to provide the names and contact information of recent references (recent is defined as within the last 2 years):

References must be available, have an in-depth knowledge of your work/projects, and must be able to answer specific questions pertaining to your experience, achievements and strengths.

References that are not reachable and/or not available are lowering the candidates’ chances to be found fully qualified and be considered for appointment. When providing names of references, it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they are available to respond in a timely manner.

All information obtained throughout the selection process, from time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate candidates.
