Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill one (1) position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Ottawa, Ontario.

A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence.

EDUCATION / OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
▶ EDU1. A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management subgroup.

OR

▶ OC1. Eligibility for a recognized Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

↪At DND, specialization at CT-FIN-02 level and above is defined as the successful completion of six (6) university level accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or economics courses.

EXPERIENCE
▶ EX1. Significant* experience in accounting or finance.
▶ EX2. Significant* experience providing financial advice and guidance to clients and senior management.
▶ EX3. Experience supervising staff.
▶ EX4. Experience in researching, developing and preparation of briefing materials for presentation to senior manager or audiences without technical/finance knowledge.

* Significant refers to the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of a broad range of related activities that were the candidate’s primary work responsibilities. It will be assessed based on the scope, complexity and the diversity of the work performed for a period of at least two (2) financial cycles.
