Intent of the process

Anticipatory Staffing - A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff positions with various tenures. This may also be used for actings, assignments and secondments.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives

Degree equivalency

Experience providing guidance to clients, stakeholders or management

Experience providing administrative support services

Experience working with various software systems, applications such as Word, Excel, WordPerfect, PowerPoint

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

A degree from a recognize post-secondary institution in a related field, such as psychology, sociology, justice or criminology

Degree equivalency

Experience using police databases such as the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS), and InfoPol

Experience with providing training sessions such as workshops, presentations

Experience working with the RCMP in an operational police environment, or with law enforcement partners such as non-RCMP police services, justice and corrections officials, or parole and probation officers

You will be required to demonstrate how you meet the education and experience criteria (essential and asset) for the initial screening, in answering online screening questions. The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship or permanent resident status prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates; Permanent resident card.

Testing/interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice.

The successful applicant will have to obtain an RCMP security clearance. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, on-line activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc.

Successful applicant is required to work in Regina, Saskatchewan. Telework or alternate work locations will not be an option.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
