The intent of the selection process is to create an inventory of qualified candidates for our entry-level positions.
The inventory of qualified candidates will be use to staff various positions of varying tenures, including temporary and permanent appointments, of varying security levels within the RCMP in the Edmonton Region.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

- Experience in the provision of at least 3 administrative support services such as: data entry, ordering office supplies, processing mail, preparing documents such as letters, memoranda, briefing notes or reports
- Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
- Experience in using Microsoft applications Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience working in a law enforcement environment.
• Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC).
• Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices.
• Experience using a financial management system such as SAP.
• Experience maintaining and updating a Human Resources Management Information System (E.g. HRMIS, PeopleSoft)
• Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages
• Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving and/or destroying data.
• Experience transcribing statements from audio cassettes or digital media.
• Experience providing clerical/administrative support services to management, such as but not limited to monitoring and managing their electronic inbox and managing their calendar, organizing meetings and/or other events, making travel arrangements and/or processing travel claims on behalf of others.

RCMP Security Clearance
Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
Positions filled will have one of the following security clearance requirements: RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret.
