Assessment accommodation

We offer work in hybrid mode with 3 days in the office and 2 days teleworking. Note that depending on the duties of the position held, work in hybrid mode is not possible in some operational sectors.

All assessments (written exam and interview) will be conducted in person at our offices in Westmount, Quebec.

All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to) reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established from this process. Depending on the position(s) being staffed, additional asset qualifications, operational requirements or conditions of employment may be required. Candidates in the pool may be assessed and required to meet these additional qualifications in order to be appointed.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or *employer-approved alternatives.

* The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are:
◾ A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or
◾ An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Recent** experience providing administrative support services with a MINIMUM of FIVE (5) of the following :
◾ Logistical organization of conferences or videoconferences;
◾ Preparation of contextual documents for meetings and/or taking meeting minutes;
◾ Electronic calendar management for others;
◾ Data entry;
◾ Processing of correspondence;
◾ Financial processing (invoice, purchase orders, etc.);
◾ Ordering office supplies;
◾ Sorting and filing documents according to established classification systems;
◾ Processing of travel requests;
◾ Writing documents;
◾ Answering to telephone, in-person or electronic inquiries;
◾ Analysis of data and/or documentation to verify accuracy, completeness and compliance.

Significant*** experience providing service to clients.

Experience using computer softwares such as the Microsoft Office suite.

** ‘’Recent’’ is defined as an experience obtained within the last three (3) years.
*** ‘’Significant’’ is defined as six (6) months or more of continuous work.

LEAVE/ABSENCES DURING THE SELECTION PROCESS:

1. Medical reasons with doctor's certificate,
2. Death in your immediate family,
3. Confirmation of pre-approved travel plans or training plans (made before the advertisement posting date),

5. Participation in an assessment for another selection process.
