In this role, you will develop and implement public outreach programs, products and events with the goal of increasing Canadians' understanding and appreciation of Rouge National Urban Park and other Parks Canada places.
Primarily, you will work to develop and coordinate the Learn-to Camp program. The Learn-to Camp team spends the summer helping everyone enjoy the outdoors and feel safe camping. You will recruit, train and manage scheduling for a team of students. Through the development and delivery of innovative programs and interactive presentations, the team encourages the public to connect with Canada’s rich history, experience the outdoors, and learn more about our environment and heritage.

A rich assembly of natural, cultural and agricultural landscapes, Rouge National Urban Park is home to amazing biodiversity, some of the last remaining working farms in the Greater Toronto Area, Carolinian ecosystems, amazing hiking opportunities, and human history dating back over 10,000 years.
Rouge National Urban Park is one of the largest and best protected urban parks of its kind in the world, spanning 79.1 square kilometres in the heart of Canada's largest and most diverse metropolitan area, overlapping the cities of Toronto, Markham and Pickering and the townships of Uxbridge and Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Anticipatory
The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates, anticipating the need for one full-time position to be staffed until March 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic requirements in the same or other parts of the country.
This role requires up to 100% of time on duty allocated in office, in park or at partner events. A hybrid work agreement can be discussed when operational requirements allow for it.

• Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized university or college with specialization in education, communications, natural sciences, environmental sciences, Canadian history or Canadian studies, outdoor recreation, tourism or other discipline relevant to this position, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience relevant to this position.
• Experience planning, developing, implementing and monitoring programs, activities, operations, services in the recreation/outdoor/tourism industry or in a public outreach environment.
