Duties

• Provide information, guidance, and direction regarding National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) and Sexual Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) legislative requirements, policies, processes, systems, and services to NSOR internal and external stakeholders.

• Perform administrative and operational support duties such as compiling information and preparing reports, responding to Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests, reviewing and identifying errors in reports/documentation, preparing correspondence, completing forms, etc.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff two (2) permanent positions in Edmonton, Alberta.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. permanent or temporary) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

• A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*.

EXPERIENCE
• Experience performing general and operational support duties, such as: compiling information and preparing reports, reviewing and identifying errors in reports/documentation, preparing correspondence, completing forms, data entry.
• Experience in interpreting and applying legislation policies or directives.
• Experience providing service to internal and external clients via telephone or email.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (eg. Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience using a minimum of two (2) Police or Government database systems such as CPIC, PROS, ORCA, JOIN, MOVES, NSOR-D, Infopol or ViCLAS.
• Experience working with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
• Willing and able to work overtime, as required.
• Willing and able to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport).

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
