RESOURCE MANAGEMENT FISHERIES ADVISOR

Positions: 3
Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Salary: $37,999 to $50,555 (under revision)
Deadline: October 12, 2001 - 18:00 Pacific time (6:00 p.m.)

Dynamic work environment providing a coordination role in developing and implementing new fisheries policy directions. The focus will be on the facilitated approach through the development of integrated fisheries management plans and the introduction of results orientated approach such as objective based management. An awareness of global trends in fisheries management, the inter-relations with the Oceans Act, Species At Risk legislation and Aboriginal interests.

OUR REQUIREMENTS:
  • Completion, by June 2002, of a Bachelors degree from a recognized university with a specialization in one of the following: Commerce, Economics, Social Sciences or Related Science degrees or other related specialities.
  • Preference may be given candidates with courses that are Fisheries related.
  • 2 positions require a knowledge of English, and
    1 position requires a knowledge of English and French (Language profile CBC/CBC - Imperative Staffing)
  • Successfully write the Graduate Recruitment Test (GRT) to be held on October 20, 2001.
  • Strong facilitation and analytical skills required. Computer skills.
  • A security clearance must be obtained before an appointment is made.
