About the position
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has responsibility to continuously monitor, investigate, and report on natural hazards such as earthquakes and space weather events that occur in Canada and operates seismic, geodetic, and space weather monitoring stations across Canada in this capacity. The findings and alerts contribute to the safety of Canadians and critical infrastructure operations.NRCan, through the Canadian Hazards Information Service (CHIS), is looking to support operation of these monitoring stations by adding members to an existing national-scale Field Operations team. Main responsibilities will include station maintenance, remotely monitoring the transmission of data from the stations to CHIS data acquisition hubs and promptly taking corrective actions to ensure operational needs are met. Diverse and multi-faceted duties provide opportunity for expanding knowledge and expertise in a wide range of subjects.
